The Velveteen Rabbit
For our story before bed tonight, we read the Velveteen Rabbit. Classic book. If you haven't read it in a while, you need to check it out. The Rabbit discusses with the Skin Horse what it is like to be real. The Skin Horse says,
"Real isn't how you are made. It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."
I have decided that having children made me real.
