Island Park/Yellowstone and Jorgen Turns One!!

OK, I know that everyone thinks that they have the coolest family, but seriously, mine is way up there!!

We traveled with my sisters and their families this year to Island Park and stayed in my brother-in-law's family's cabin. (Sort of like my former roommate's, cousin's sister, I know!) We had so much fun. My nieces and nephews are funny and kind to one another. We had 11 kids all staying in one cabin and no fighting ensued. Wow!

On Saturday we all went into West Yellowstone and went shopping. Seth was bound and determined to buy a gun. He is obsessed. When he grows up he wants to be a hunter. Well, we gave each child 10 dollars to spend for the day. The rifle that he wanted was eighteen. All of the adults went to lunch and my niece Keylee took the kids with her shopping. Lo and behold, we look across the street, out of the cafe window, and there is Seth carrying his new rifle. Sweet Keylee had given Seth the money that she was paid to babysit, so he could have his gun.
Saturday was also JORGEN'S 1st BIRTHDAY!!! WOOT, WOOT!!! Man, do we all love that kid! I made him a GINORMOUS cupcake for his birthday. It was very tasty, by the way. We all sang
"Happy Birthday" and then everyone blew out the candles. We gave him a chocolate cupcake, which he promptly smashed and threw on the floor for me to vacuum!! Some of it made its way into his mouth and all over his face. He likes chocolate and sugar, so it was a hit!!

He received a few gifts, most of them had wheels. He has been saying, "BBBBRRRRRMMMM, BBBBRRRRMMM!" and pushing cars, remote controls and empty oatmeal boxes around on the floor for months. They are his favorite thing. His gifts demonstrated that!
This is his helicopter that has wheels and plays music. He loves it!

On Sunday we visited Old Faithful, in Yellowstone. We go every year and Oooooh and Aaahhh and then go and have an ice cream cone. This year, they have torn down the Ice Cream building. What the heck?

Here they are waiting for Old Faithful to erupt. Keylee, Mitchell, Cameron, Liesel and Seth.

Old Faithful erupting.

We had lunch by the river, and then the younger kids went and waded through it and sat down in it. Crazy. It was only 70 degrees on Sunday and I think that the water was about 55. Yikes!!

Anyway, it was a fun, fun, fun vacation!
