Disneyland: A childhood Mecca
California is the place to be! After a very long semester, battling the Pathophysiology Beast, we all headed out on a spring break/vacation. It was just what we all needed!
We left on Tuesday the 19th. We drove to Las Vegas and stayed at the Hilton. We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Mitchell had a gigantic burger and ate every bite of it. Due to the time change, we didn't finish dinner until 10 pm. The kids were tired.
The next day we drove straight to California. We checked into our hotel and then went straight to Huntington Beach. Woo hoo for the ocean! Everyone loved it. The kids had never been to the ocean before, but they made up for lost time! Logan chased the seagulls, Jeremy buried everyone in the sand and the kids played in the waves.
Jorgie liked playing in the sand. He was afraid of the waves unless we were holding him.
Here is everyone getting buried. The temperature was only about 70 degrees and the water was pretty cold. The kids got in the sand to warm up.
Here they all are, walking deeper and deeper. I had to call them back! The lifeguards warned of strong riptides.
My friend, Nick Berg, met up with us at Disneyland. It was so nice to see him since he moved to California! (He is my second-little-brother!!) Needless to say, the kids loved him and it was great to have another adult with 5 kids! Nick got to sit in on the rides that make me sick, like SpaceMountain. (He's way cooler than I am, anyway!)

Sweet Jorgen was stuck in that stroller a lot! We brought his blocks. He played with those all day long! We made sure to go on several rides that he could ride. And we took him to the Bug's Life area, where he ran through the water. (Like the fountain at The Gateway.)
Nick with Logan and Seth outside of one of the rides.
So fun! We're going at Christmas with Staci's family. Taylor will be home from his mission too.
