Seth: 1.2.2022 - Cabin Fever!

 Whats up everyone! Welcome back to another fantastic email written by yours truly, Elder Evans! Before i go through the wonderful week i had, people here in Norway and most of Europe cant say my name right! They either say sett or seff because -th is totally not a thing in norwegian. They also confuse v's and w's, so my name sometimes comes out as sef ewans. I think its funny only because I cant pronounce pretty much all pure norwegian names. I always throw an american twist on it. I have given up introducibg my self as seth and have just resorted to sett out of convenience. Here in Norway we barely use the title Eldste. It does not translate that well. "you mean your name is older evans?" is usually the comments we get. It throws people off because it translates to elder or to older as in elder brother/older brother.

This week has been pretty good. I say that because we have had some ups and some downs. So it all averages ojt to a good week. First off we got Sisters here in Stavanger so lets go! We got double the amount of workers here and now we can dump all of our female friends on to them and focus on the bros. But handing over half of our work to them stung a little but it will be a 1 step back 10 steps forward type of thing.

Another thing. Everyone and there dog is getting the something whatever of covid, and unfortunately we got it too. We are all chill and basically have a cold, but we have to quarantine for a week and stay in our apartment the whole time. I think that I might just completely lose my mind by the end of this. We had to reschedule all of our lessons and dinners until next week which kinda blows.  But it will all work out. It is nice to get it over with especially because everyone i have heard  getting this has been fine. My heart goes out to all those who have lost friends and family to this evil disease. This leads me into my spiritual thought for the week which is.... Death!

Now we get to take a fun field trip to the grave and beyond.  In one of my favorite books lies my favorite scriptures on this topic. It is in the wonderful book of Alma which has nearly all you need. This takes us to alma chapter 40:11-13 which says. 

   "11 Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection—Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life.

12 And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.

13 And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of the wicked, yea, who are evil—for behold, they have no part nor portion of the Spirit of the Lord; for behold, they chose evil works rather than good; therefore the spirit of the devil did enter into them, and take possession of their house—and these shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth, and this because of their own iniquity, being led captive by the will of the devil."

Wow that got a little dark and hopeless at the end which is not what i was after but, i know that everyone single person that you know have died or is about to, they will all go back to our loving heavenly father. I promise that you will all see you loved ones again after you die. Death has no power over us because of Jesus Christ. He broke the bands of death. He is the one that allows it all to happen. Jesus Christ is not a story in a book or two. Jesus Christ saved us from sin and death through his sacrifice 2000 years ago. He has been our savior since the dawn of time and will be our savior forever. All the unfair things in this world get swallowed up by him and his sacrifice he made for us. I know that you all have access to this remedy. It is one prayer away.
