Seth: 15.11.21 - The flakening

Howdy Yalls! This week was a wild one! Nevertheless we got absolutely destroyed as always. Its almlst impossible but we got rejected a million times and those that chose for us to come back flaked out on us. Nearly every one we had a lesson with fell through. It was tough but the work goes on. This week was beast mode even if we had so many people fall through. We can see the miracles through the all of the wreckoning!

First off after I wrote my email last week on Monday we as a district went to the Houston Animal Prison! Woot woot! Other people call it a zoo, but... it is a penitentiary for wildlife. I tried to have fun there but seeing all sorts of animals kept in tiny habits is not what I call fun. Anyways that was that. Afterwards we got dressed up and went back to the work. I'll tell yall that the end of daylight savings might have been nice for yall and an extra hour of sleep is nice but it gets dark at 6:00 here! Thats 3 hours of missionary work in the dark in the most sketchy area in our mission. Our president told us though that we are on the Lord's errand. He will protect us from danger if we follow the spirits prompting. If we read the Book of Mormon it tells us about the 900 times that the missionaries were cast into prison and into fire and were delivered then. And if God is the same yesterday today and forever then why wouldn't he protect the missionaries now?
Tuesday and Wednesday were both days of pure destruction to the maximum. They constituted going from lesson to lesson to lesson with nearly everyone of them falling through. But hey that is missionary work.
Thursday... the highlight of the week. The most unforgettable day. First off it was my Birthday! Less goo! Thank you yall for sending me happy birthday emails, messages etc. I received all of them even though you there was no response! Thank you so much! The day even started out amazing with a call to my family. That was awesome, afterwards we had 3 big lessons that day that surprisingly didn't fall through! We had a lesson with our friend oanh (prounced "one") she was delighted to speak with us about the restoration of Jesus Christ! She brought up a lot of questions concerns and doubts but the spirit was testifying that what she is hearing is the truth. It was a great lesson!
After that we went to Bobs place... Bobs... We pull up to Bobs place and had a feeling that we should not wait to come down to us like he usually does but for us to just go straight up to him. The elevator opens and we hear cries and groans from somebody and we quickly see that it was Bob. He fell down and was struggling to get up! We helped him up and he was not okay, he was acting strange. We got him inside and I started to look to see what was wrong. He was confused and repeating himself over and over again. He wasn't making sense and was slurring his speech! I quickly start checking for signs of a stroke! We called 911 and got an ambo there within minutes. In the meantime Elder Fromm and I gave him a priesthood blessing to make sure that he was okay. The paramedics check on him and make sure that he was okay. No stroke and good vitals. They offered to take him to the hospital but he said no. By the time it was time for us to leave Bob was doing way better! All we know that is Bob gave us the scare of the century! We left him with a prayer and had to leave but he didn't have a stroke. The paramedics siad that he was good too. We clearly saw the hand of god touch down in Bob's life that day and save him from whatever life threatening ill that came his way.
After that "lesson" we had to go to another appointment where in this lesson no one was knocking on deaths door. We had a lesson with our good friend Andy on the law of chastity. We and our member friend had a great lesson with Andy. (Sorry to rush everything but im writing basically an autobiography in one email)
Friday we had a stellar zone conference! The inspiration that we received was clearly only from God. We learned so much! Our mission president delivered a powerful talk on how to deal with the worst of days, weeks, or even transfers on a mission. We learned that it is all about attitude and nothing about the external circumstances that happen around you. If we look forward with an eternal perspective and acknowledge the bad we will have a better outcome than merely dwelling on the bad.
Saturday and Sunday were just 2 more days of rejection though! We are excited to be on the Lord's errand. I love you all and see you next week!
