Seth: 25.10.21 - The Grind

 Hey! This week was intense. We were on the grind all day everyday. When our teaching pool dries up, we must replace that teaching time with finding time. After doing what we call "filtration station" we stop teaching those that are not ready to let thee prevail in their lives. It is always a tough decision to make but there are people that are more ready out there and we cant afford to spend all our time on those who simply wont choose to follow Jesus Christ. After a while we try again. This week was basically straight finding! We would get out and street contact near people's homes for 6-8 hours a day! We ran into some wacko people. There is this one person that wants us to film a music video of him and post all of his art work on the internet. The man is like 60 and he is a little of the rails. We will do our best!

Last P day after I wrote the email, we went to the Museum and it was fuego! There were several exhibits that were just the best! There was a gem exhibit that looked like a heist movie could take place in there, there was a mineral exhibit that was my favorite. Wow I sound old. When I was younger I thought that going to the museum was going to be a snoozer but it was the coolest thing we have done on P day so far! We have found some radical street art out here that I always stop and try to take pictures because you all will chastise me for not having pictures!
I dont know if I have mentioned bob to you all but just to give a little run down: Bob is a 65 year old christian man that A) loves to cook food for people and B) washes his dishes in the bathtub with little to no soap. I tell you this because he feeds us straight up everything he has. We do our best to decline, but missionary 101 eat what you have in front of you and take no more. So we go over to Bobs little hole in the wall and have a lesson with him. The first thing he cooka up for us. Doughy Calzoans. Scrumptious! 2nd course: Frittata or some egg and sausage deal with peppers. Delicious! Ohh you think were are done? Nope! Mind you each of these courses is an entire meal you would eat at dinner. Let me resume to the 5 course meal we had. We then had Fried egg plant, then some chinese food and finally to finish it off we had some lemon cake. He kept asking if we were still hungry. Mind you the thought that always goes through my head while eat is: "this fork was washed in the bathtub." *takes a bite to eat* "this bowl was washed in the bathtub" *winces and takes another bite to eat*. "i dont think he used soap" *takes a bite to eat* "he scrapes the old food into the toilet and uses that as his disposal" *finishes the last doughy calzoan*. Meanwhile bob over there "I hope your hungry!! " *laughs maniacally* "you think you eat good at bobs place? I could bang out an omelet for yah, want an omelet hmmm? His food is a hit or miss. Either it was made that day and tastes pretty good or it was made a week ago and this is the 5th time it has been heated up. So going to bobs place is like hitting the slot machine at Vegas. You never know what you are going to get. Bob is our best friend out here. He is hilarious and one of the kindest people i have met. We are bobs best friends. We are waiting on some presidency approval for bob before he can be baptized but he is ready.

I just wanted to leave you all with a thought. In D&C 121: 7-9 it reads
"7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.
9 Thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands."
God loves all of us. The trails we get in this life will be hard, but in the grand scheme of things, they will be but a small moment. Choose to follow Christ. Choose your hard. It will be hard to follow Christ. It will be hard to not follow Christ. He has promised so much for you if you do follow him.
I love you all and see you all next week!
